Three Russian Universities Are at the New ARWU Subject Rankings

Academic Ranking of World Universities prepared by specialists of Shanghai Jiao Tong University.

This year Subject Ranking ARWU dedicated to engineering sciences was released for the first time. Universities were ranged used eight criterias, including: academic achievement, the credibility of researchers, the awards, the university's interest in international cooperation and others.

In total more than 730 universities from 55 countries were ranked, among them were 3 Russian universities. MEPhI entered the 301-400 group of "Electrical engineering and electronics", MSU and USATU entered the 401-600 group of "Materials".

According to the rector of the National Research Nuclear University "MEPhI" Michael Strikhanov, ARWU rating is one of the most difficult for Russian universities, that is why few of them are listed there.
