The registration for the contest where winners will get prizes and opportunity to be admitted to the university has been opened.
Siberian Federal University invites school leavers to participate in the contest "The smartest university applicant in Siberia 2017". The applications are accepted before March 08, 2017. The winners will have an opportunity to get enrolled to the University with no additional entry exams to any field of study they choose. Besides this, 200 best applicants will get valuable prizes: laptops, smartphones, photo cameras, etc.
Pupils who leave secondary schools or graduate from technical schools or colleges in Russia or Belorussia in 2017 as well as from Kazakhstan, Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan can apply. Applicants from other countries can also participate, however, they will have to pay for their participation in the second part of the contest (in person participation).
The contest consists of three stages. The first stage is holding online, you have to register at the SibFU website. You can send the answers through the special online service. Applicants have three weeks to complete the first stage. However, you cannot reply upon your teachers or tutors’ assistance as the questions are aimed at revealing applicants' creating thinking. For example, last year applicant had to determine if human being is 50% banana from the point of view of genetics.
Fifty best applicants will get to the second stage. And only ten of them will be invited to the final stage of the contest. Three winners will have an opportunity to be enrolled to Siberian Federal University. "Besides, the participation in this contest will add ten more points to the results of the Unified State Exam", says Alexander Usachev from SibFU admission committee.
He also added that this result will be taken into account as additional ten points by other Russian universities. Along with the ten best applicants SibFU will choose ten best secondary schools by the score of their school leavers. Those schools also will get prizes such as printers, computers, etc.
