I enjoy being here, there are many opportunities
In America, I studied biology in Russian language at the University of Vermont. This is how I found my way here. I came to Tyumen under the Fulbright international educational grant program and picked up a Tyumen State University. Fulbright is the biggest international exchange program between US and Russia, and between US and other countries. So, I am a master student here in X-Bio Institute. It is ecological and agricultural biology program. I chose it, because in the modern world, the sphere of agriculture is developing very quickly, it is associated with genetic engineering, with DNA technologies.
In the majority of our classes, we study various areas of biology. We work in small groups and spend a lot of time with our professors. It is nice because if you have a question, it is easy to get an answer. And you always can get more information. For example, my interests are related to microbiology and biochemistry, I can easily find the people I need to consult or conduct my own research. This is a pretty good system for people who came from other countries and do not know Russian.
I think that you have good public transport system in Russia, it's comfortable. And there is always store in the neighborhood. You don’t have to drive across the city to get something. In the USA you have to drive a car all the time, and if you don’t want to go, you won’t get anywhere. You also have many public spaces, parks where people can come and relax. I enjoy being here, there are many opportunities.
