  • Applied Philology: Russian Language and Literature

    This program is aimed at comprehensive training of bachelor degree students, combining the two main parts of philology – linguistics and literary criticism. Students enrolled in this program will have in-depth knowledge of modern directions of applied philology.

    The goal of the bachelor's program is to build professional competencies including the ability to work with a variety of texts - written, oral and virtual (hypertexts and verbal elements of multimedia objects); knowledge of Russian and foreign languages, Russian and world literature, world arts; the ability to apply the knowledge and skills in their research, applied and project-oriented activities.

    In the learning process, students develop the following professional competencies: the ability to apply the knowledge gained in the area of theory and history of the Russian language and literature, communication theory, philological analysis and interpretation of the text in their own research activities; the ability to conduct independent research in the field of philology

  • Foreign Philology: English Language and Literature, Translation Studies

    This programme is offered in both full-time and extramular forms

    This program is aimed at comprehensive training of bachelor degree students, combining the two main parts of philology – linguistics and literary criticism). Students enrolled in this program will have in-depth knowledge about the structure and interrelationships of both the linguistic and literary processes.

    The uniqueness of the program is in the combination of fundamental philological education in the field of literary criticism and in linguistics. When developed the curriculum of the program preserved the qualities that make up the strong side of university programs in foreign philology in Russia have been preserved, the qualities that are actively used in similar European and American programs as well.

    Students specialize either in English language and literature or in Spanish language and literature. The second foreign language (German, French, Spanish or English), as well as translation studies disciplines, is an obligatory part of the program.

  • Applied Philology: Tatar Language and Literature, Journalism

    This program is aimed at comprehensive training of bachelor degree students who have in-depth knowledge of Tatar Philology. Students study history and current state of the Tatar language, literature and journalism.

    Graduates work in educational institutions, editorial offices of newspapers and magazines, book publishers and public services. The program Applied Philology: Tatar Language and Literature, Journalism focus on the acquisition of skills for professional level work with various types of texts (creation, editing, translation, examination of official, business, journalistic and other types of texts) and the implementation of linguistic, interpersonal and interethnic written and oral communication.

    Students applying for this program must demonstrate the knowledge of the Tatar language at an advanced level (B2 on CEFR).

  • Applied Philology: Russian as a Foreign Language with in-depth study of Foreign Languages

    This program prepares specialists who have fundamental knowledge in the field of philology. The curriculum includes General Linguistics and Theory of Literature, the History of Russian and World Literature, Theory and Practice of Teaching Russian as a Foreign Language, Information Technologies in Education and Philology. The students master several foreign languages ​​(Russian as a foreign language, English/Chinese, etc. (choice of a student) and develop skills for effective international cooperation.

    The applicants must pass exams in Russian, a foreign language and Social Studies (in the Unified State Exam format). For international applicants, the level of Russian proficiency should not lower than the First Certification level (B1 on CEFR).

  • Foreign Philology: Spanish Language and Literature, translation Studies
    The uniqueness of the programs lies in the combination of fundamental philological education in the area of literary criticism, linguistics and translation studies. During its development, the qualities that combine the strong side of university programs in foreign philology in Russia and abroad (Great Britain, Germany, Spain) were preserved. These programs are aimed at developing the ability to communicate in oral and written forms in a foreign language in its literary form, as well as the ability to translate various types of texts (mainly scientific and journalistic); annotation and abstracting of documents, scientific works and works of art in foreign languages.
