The program of supplementary education “Preparation for University Enrollment: Russian as a Foreign Language” helps to get trained for passing the B1 examination tests. Besides this, students enrolled in this program may also pass the complex exam. It includes evaluation of the language proficiency and knowledge of public studies and history of the Russian State. This kind of testing is a must for those who are considering temporary or permanent residency in RF with an option of official employment.
The in-class studies are more than for 50% of time focused on studying Russian. The students with language proficiency of no less than B1 level may be offered studying in groups for perfection of their knowledge and enhancement of their language proficiency. Each specific program includes introduction to the basics of public studies, Russian history and literature.
Classroom studies amount to 1050 academic hours.
At the end of the course, learners who have successfully passed the test in Russian as a foreign language and got credits in all other disciplines shall be awarded with Certificates.
According to the Order of the Ministry of Education of the Russian Federation № 375 of 18.02.2004, SPbPU has the authority to test foreign citizens on their Russian language proficiency. The SPbPU Testing Center has been in operation for more than 15 years; it verifies the correspondence of foreign citizens’ Russian proficiency levels according to the generally adopted standards (levels А2, В1, В2, С1, С2). The Center also performs the above mentioned complex examinations.
