This programme trains specialists to solve real challenges in development, from responding to rapid social and economic changes to countering the consequences of growing populations.
Students learn how to apply multidisciplinary analytic approaches to population development and resource allocation issues, gaining skills that are essential for management and public administration across different sectors. The programme combines a strong theoretical background and history of population development issues together with the most current approaches to analyzing population structure and needs for resources.
Upon graduation, students are well prepared for high level careers working for government agencies, non-governmental organizations, research centers, and private companies.
Instruction is delivered not only by HSE professors, but also leading specialists and scholars from the Russian Academy of Science, New Economics School, Moscow Lomonosov State University, and RANEPA. Lectures will also be delivered by experts from international universities and research centres, including INED (France), Max Planck Institute for Demographic Research (Germany), University of Pennsylvania (USA), University of Chicago (USA), Université catholique de Louvain (Belgium), Stockholm University (Sweden), and Sapienza University (Italy).
