The present programme is designed for training anthropologists, who will be equipped with comprehensive systematic information on cultural and social diversity. The graduates will be able to use categorical apparatus of anthropology to analyze the problems of modern society.

Programme contents

The programme’s curriculum includes combination of the basic subjects and courses such as:

  • Fundamentals of Social Anthropology;

  • Methods of Field Research;

  • History of Anthropological Studies;

  • Current Theories of Anthropology;

  • City Anthropology;

  • Migration Anthropology;

  • Religion Anthropology;

  • Legal Anthropology;

The student can participate research conducting in the Laboratory for socio-anthropological studies and focused on three areas:

  1. analysis of global migration flows in the regional and local sections;

  2. analysis of effects of development and dissemination of information and communication technologies (heterogeneous communities);

  3. analysis of cultural consequences of human intervention in nature.

  • East-Kazakhstan State Technical University (Kazakhstan);

  • Tajik National University (Tajikistan);

  • And other national universities and institutes.

Career

The graduates can work in organizations and institutions involved in research of ethnology and social anthropology.

Admissions

Only students with a higher educational diploma may submit application for this programme. The students shall be enrolled on a competitive basis according to the results of entrance examinations and interview.
