Programme Focus

The course is designed for students who want to master their professional skills in general and theoretical physics, a number of specialized disciplines of natural science and mathematical cycle and their practical work.

Major departments implement education of highly qualified specialists in the sphere of modern theoretical physics, including statistical and nuclear physics, elementary particle physics, gravitation theory and astrophysics, continuum mechanics and biophysics; plasma physics, applied physics, physical informatics and radio physics.

Programme advantages

PFUR’s Centre of applied information technologies works in close contact with National Instruments corporation and LabView software, established in PFUR in cooperation with National Research Centre "Kurchatov Institute” scientific-educational centre of applied physics, where researches in plasma physics, nano and information technologies are conducted, the P.N. Lebedev Physical Institute of  Russian Academy of Sciences, Prokhorov General Physics Institute, Space research Institute of Russian Academy of Sciences, Joint Institute for Nuclear Research (Dubna,Russia), the National Research Centre "Kurchatov Institute", where physics students do their practical and graduate work.

The faculty offers Joint Master’s Degree Program in physics in cooperation with University of Saskatchewan (Canada).

Course  graduates are qualified to work at the Russian and foreign schools, universities and research centers; industrial enterprises, joint ventures and representations of foreign companies related to the application, maintenance and implementation of physical instruments, using physical methods of research and technology.
