The programme aims to train qualified specialists in geography and education and enlightenment. They are to have profound knowledge to teach basic and elective courses in various types of education institutions.
The programme is based on fundamental and applied research of leading Russian and foreign specialists, and also on Tomsk State University’s own long-term studies and achievements.
Programme contents.
The programme includes general scientific subjects (philosophy of science, a foreign language, IT in geography, theory of systems and system analysis), as well as professional subjects (innovative practices and technologies in education, tutor support in education institutions, theory and methods of teaching geography at school).
Our alumni may be employed by the following organizations:
- Organizations of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation, Ministry of Social Development of the Russian Federation;
- Federal and regional education agencies;
- Research centres working on problems in education;
- Secondary and higher education institutions.
Admissions.
Admission is competitive, students with Bachelor’s degrees or higher are eligible. The admission tests are an exam in Geography and an interview.
