Winners will have preferences in admission to MISiS.

NUST MISiS is running Open Programming Olympiad together with an IT company called Cognitive Technologies. Students from grades 7-11 of Russian or foreign schools are eligible. The only condition is that one needs to sign up for the Olympiad before November 25, 2016.

Entrance tests will be conducted online at midday November 27 (Moscow time). Applicants will have five hours to solve nine to twelve problems. Best scorers will be invited to the on-site round that will be held in Moscow on January 15, 2017. Participants from other cities will be accommodated in rooms in university dormitories for the time of the tests.

Winners of the on-site round will be awarded valuable prizes. The most talented young programmers will be eligible for test-free admission to the Institute of Information Technologies and Automated Control Systems, the branch of NUST MISiS that trains experts in production systems. The benefits have a duration of 4 years, so a 7th grader can make use of them upon graduation and be admitted without exams.

Open Olympiads have been held since 2012; the majority of applications come from Russia, Belarus, Georgia, Ukraine and Kazakhstan, around 2,000 students took part in the Olympiad last year. Sign up for the event now!
