Best Russian Universities Rankings Published

RAEX Ranking Agency annually lists the top 100 Russian universities.

Moscow State University leads the league table this year, followed by Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology and National Research Nuclear University MEPhI. The top 20 included Higher School of Economics (5th), Peter the Great St. Petersburg Polytechnic University (8th), National Research Tomsk Polytechnic University (9th), Novosibirsk State University (11th), Ural Federal University (12th), ITMO University (13th), National Research Tomsk State University (15th), National University of Science and Technology MISIS (17th), Kazan Federal University (18th), Peoples’ Friendship University of Russia (19th) and I.M. Sechenov First Moscow State Medical University (20th). Five of them improved their positions from the previous year: Peter the Great St. Petersburg Polytechnic University, Novosibirsk State University, ITMO University, Peoples’ Friendship University of Russia and I.M. Sechenov First Moscow State Medical University. There are 31 Moscow-based universities, 11 Petersburg-based universities and five Tomsk-based universities on the list.

RAEX has released Russian best universities rankings since 2012 based on 42 metrics which are pooled into three big categories: teaching, employer reputation and research. Rankings 2020 also relied on the opinion poll involving 61,500 teachers, scientists, students, graduates and company representatives and statistics.
