Famous American media company U.S. News & World Report has represented the annual ranking of universities.

In 2015-2016, the ranking included 750 universities from 57 countries, what is almost 30% more than in 2014. Traditionally, the level of requirements for the universities involved in selection is very high, so it is not so simple to be ranked by U.S. News & World Report. However, four Russian universities have managed to do this. MSU n.a. M.V. Lomonosov has taken 227th position, MEPhI is ranked 465th, Saint-Petersburg State University is 515th, NSU is 672nd.

These universities are also included in the subject ranking of U.S. News & World Report by physical sciences, where their positions are even higher: Moscow State University is at 23rd position, MEPhI takes 127th place, NSU – 170th, SPbSU – 241st.

In addition, MEPhI takes 20th position in the world by the number of publications in international collaboration. It should be noted that 2015 turned out to be especially successful for MEPhI – besides the above successes, the university has entered into the prestigious THE ranking in physics, ranking 36th.
