Engineering Olympiad for Prospective CIS Students

The winners can get into an engineering university without entrance exams.  

National Research Nuclear University MEPhI, Samara University and Saint Petersburg Electrotechnical University "LETI” will hold an engineering olympiad in partnership with other Russian higher education centres. Russian-speaking schoolchildren in 9th – 11th grades who want to get higher engineering education in Russia are welcome. The academic competition covers such topics as thermodynamics, mechanics, mechanical engineering, electrical and electronic engineering and nuclear technology. The elimination round will be held online from 1 November to 31 December 2019. Register at the MEPhI or Samara University website to receive the link to olympiad problems. Top scorers qualify for the finals to be held in several Russian cities in February – March 2020. The dates will be published on the universities websites later.

The engineering olympiad winners are admitted to undergraduate/specialist studies in physics without entrance exams if they prove their olympiad result by scoring at least 75 points in the Unified State Exam in physics.
