The contest is open to applicants from across the world.  

National University of Science and Technology MISIS will hold a research project contest for prospective international students who want to enrol in masters studies at the Russian university. The competitions that mostly cover engineering disciplines and just a few humanities will run till April 12, 2019. Participants are requested to register on the university website and upload their course or semester paper (a scientific/popular science article) in English or Russian depending on the chosen language of instruction. The text is submitted as a scan of PDF document signed by the author. At the first stage of the contest, the jury selects the best research papers. The top candidates’ names will be published on the MISIS website. In the finals, a candidate will have to defend their papers online or onsite. They have to email the presentation of their project (up to ten slides) to the jury. Assessment is based on five criteria including practical value, literacy, the logic of the narrative etc. Contest winners are entitled to admission to MISIS master’s studies without entrance examinations.

National University of Science and Technology MISIS offers foreign nationals more than 80 graduate programmes in physics, information technologies, electronics, materials study, metallurgy, economics, management, linguistics etc. Some programmes are taught in English.
