British and Russian teachers will conduct English-medium classes.  

The school will run in Novosibirsk from 28 January till 1 February 2019. The organisers are Novosibirsk State University and Great Britain’s University of Edinburgh. The short programme is offered to international undergraduate students in the fourth year as well as graduate students focused on biology, medicine, physics and information technologies, who are interested in genetics and plan to continue their education in this area. British and Russian specialists will read lectures on genome structure, epidemiology basics, heredity, complex traits genetics and latest achievements in genomics. Students will be offered practical classes, round table discussions and individual work. The key requirements are proficiency in English, R programming skills and a personal notebook.

To participate in the winter school, students have to pass competitive selection. Send your cover letter, resume and references in English to statgenomicslab@gmail.com by the 1 December 2018 deadline. Tuition is free; a student pays the travel costs to Novosibirsk and the dormitory accommodation fee at the rate of 750 rubles ($11) per day.

Novosibirsk State University is a good choice for those who plan to engage in research; it offers many graduate and PhD programmes in natural science fields. The university is located in the Academgorodok research hub which has modern labs and scientific centres where students can have research practice.
