Olympiad in Russian as a foreign language will be held at RUDN

On November 13, the 17-th all-Russian Olympiad for students in Russian as a foreign language will begin at RUDN University. The topic will be “Russia as a country of new professional opportunities”.

Foreign students who study at Russian universities may take part in the Olympiad that will be organized by the Department of Philology of RUDN University fr om November 13 to December 8. The competition will be held in two tracks: one in humanities and the other in natural sciences and technics.

An application can be submitted by any Russian university wh ere foreign students study. The university should form a team of a leader and 1 to 4 students who do not speak Russian as their native language.

All participants will have to write an essay that will be blindly graded by at least two jury members. Besides, all the students will prepare a video project up to three minutes long, where they are going to demonstrate their skills of monologue speech. All videos will be posted on the “Russian in Focus” YouTube channel and open for comments. For the first time, the Olympiad will be held entirely in the distance format.
