Students from 26 countries have completed short programmes.

Samara University held summer schools online for the first time in 2020. International applicants were offered two courses in the Russian language, one in international law and one in high tech management. Training was provided to 52 students from Britain, Germany, Greece, Spain, Italy, America, Australia, France, China, Indonesia, Malaysia, Mexico, Peru, Finland, Chile, Switzerland, Japan and other countries. The summer school programme comprised instruction and entertainment and relied on the resident online platform; lectures and practice classes in English were delivered by Samara University professors and teachers from partner universities.

Entertainment included online sightseeing tours. Students could take a virtual walking tour around Samara, learn more about city history and look at places of interest. They visited the Aviation and Astronautics Museum and the training airfield. Summer school participants were introduced to Russian cuisine as they joined a master class in making bliny (crepes) and trademark salad Olivier. After completing summer school programmes, students defended their projects and got electronic certificates with four ECTS credits.
