Siberian Federal University Summer School on Developing Intercultural Dialogue

More than 80 students from Italy, France, Thailand and Russia took part in an international programme.

In July 2017, Siberian Federal University held summer school on “Multicultural Mediation in Education.” The students took a weeklong training at the Politekhnik sports and recreation centre on the Krasnoyarsk reservoir shore.

They learnt about multicultural mediation theory (conflict resolution methods), adaptation techniques for study abroad students and proper multicultural dialogue development strategy, and created and presented personal projects addressing tuition specifics in multicultural environment. Lectures and master classes were conducted by SibFU teachers and their international colleagues.

The students also participated in music, dance and sport contests in their spare time. SibFU plans to launch a Master’s programme in Multicultural Mediation jointly with New University of Lisbon.
