Russian Language Summer Camp

Many Russian universities organize Russian language summer camps for foreign students.

These are short-term (usually two-three weeks to month) programmes, which include various educational courses, activities, tours and so on. Such courses usually take place from June to September. For foreign students it is a good networking opportunity and a chance to study Russian or to deepen the existing language skills, to get acquainted with Russian culture, or to prepare for admission to Russian universities.

It also allows oneself to immerse into the university atmosphere and to understand whether an applicant wants to enter this certain university. The registration at Russian language summer camp is arranged in advance (usually a few months prior to the study); the exact dates of enrolment for 2018 can be checked on the universities websites.

Russian language summer camps are held in the following Russian universities:

  1. UNN (Lobachevsky University) (Nizhny Novgorod). The training duration is 4 weeks, it includes Russian language classes, lectures on Russian culture and entertainment (museums, guided tours, concerts). Upon completion of the course, a certificate with ECTS credits is issued. The course fee is RUB 40,000/USD 660.

  2. TSU (Tomsk). The training lasts for 19 days. It includes intensive Russian language courses and lectures on the Siberian history and culture along with visits to museums and excursions. The training programme is ECTS-compliant, upon completion a certificate is issued. The course fee is RUB 50,000/USD 830. TPU (Tomsk). The training lasts for 3 weeks, it includes Russian language courses for different levels, lectures on culture, classes on principal subjects (technical, economic or humanitarian fields) and a cultural programme. Upon completion of the course a university certificate is issued. The programme cost is RUB 28,000/USD 460.

  3. KFU (Kazan). The training lasts for 1 month, it includes language and cultural programmes aimed at A2 level and above. Upon completion of the course a certificate is issued. The programme cost is RUB 27,600/USD 450.

  4. ETU "LETI" (St. Petersburg). The programme is 80 academic hours and is meant for advanced students wishing to enrol for a Master's degree or Doctorate at LETI and engage in research activities. The programme includes intensive Russian language courses and sight-seeing tours. Upon completion of the course a certificate is issued. The programme cost is RUB 20,000/USD 340.   5. HSE (Moscow). Summer Universities courses for 2-4 weeks. Include different fields of study such as International Relations, Management, Quantum Techs, History and Russian as Foreign courses. You will obtain profile language for each direction an basic data od prosperity course. Could be useful for applicants whom choose same directions Bachelor’s or Master’s programmes in HSE or other Universities. Fee is USD 150. There is a discounts for partner education foundations students, specify it before apply.
