Ethnic Festival at Samara University

More than 100 students from across the world took part in the event.

Samara University held the cross cultural fete for the sixth time; the number of participants increases every year. Among the guests were students from Argentina, Mexico, Columbia, Peru, Equatorial Guinea, Angola, Burundi, Ghana, Guatemala, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Cameroon, Congo, Madagascar, Malaysia, Nepal, Nigeria, Chad, El Salvador and Vietnam. It was an excellent opportunity to connect with representatives of other nations and learn more about their culture.

The festival featured a varied and interesting programme. It started with a concert by performing arts groups which included a dance duet from South America, a Korean folk instruments band and Russian dance tradition club Karagod. Guests were invited to join yoga, oriental dance and Japanese language master classes and taste traditional dishes crafted by international students, such as Vietnamese stuffed rice rolls, Columbian-style chicken and deserts, a Mexican avocado snack (guacomole) and many other national foods. The festival ended with the best dish and most original costume contests.
