It you want to get into a Russian university in 2020, it is high time to consider enrolment options. For example, participation in academic competitions gives various preferences to foreign applicants. Higher School of Economics will hold International Youth Olympiad for prospective undergraduate students on 24 - 31 October, 2019; registration is already open. High schoolers in 10th and 11th grades (11th and 12th grades), students and international university graduates under 30 years of age are welcome to apply. The competition covers 17 subjects including mathematics, physics, history, modern politics, psychology, law, philology, journalism, international relations etc. Olympiad languages are Russian and English. The choice of the field depends on the programme the applicant wants to take. The Olympiad comprises online and onsite trials (the list of venues in Russia and elsewhere will be published later). Online seminars will be held from 2 September to 14 October to help prepare for the competition.

To take part in the Olympiad, candidates have to register on the HSE website by 14 October 2019 and email a cover letter in English or Russian describing their profile and research achievements and naming the chosen programme.

Olympiad winners are entitled to full Russian government undergraduate scholarship. Those who failed to win medal places but coped with the problems are eligible for tuition fee discounts.
