MEPhI Awards Degrees to International Students
Nuclear power plant engineers have grown in number.
National Research Nuclear University MEPhI held a graduation party to award academic degrees to 113 students from Vietnam, Turkey and Mongolia. They completed six and half years of studies on programmes in nuclear power plant construction and operation. In the beginning, the foreign nationals studied Russian at the Preparatory Department and then focused on physics, mathematics and other career-oriented disciplines. They also took an internship at Russian nuclear industry companies. MEPhI students and teachers, Embassies staff and representatives of university partner companies such as the Rosatom state corporation came to the party to congratulate the young specialists. A show included a lively fan dance performed by Vietnamese girls and Zambian students’ songs to a guitar.The international students liked to study in Russia, although it was challenging. Huynh Ngoc Lam from Vietnam said that he had begun to study Russian in his homeland and though it had helped him a lot, he found the examinations quite difficult. International students travelled across Russia in their free time; they were impressed by Russia’s nature and places of interest.
