National University Rankings Published

International Information Group Interfax listed the best Russian universities.

National University Rankings 9th Edition assessed 288 Russian universities, up 23 from last year. Lomonosov Moscow State University has traditionally held on to the first place, followed by National Research Nuclear University MEPhI. Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology is third, up three places from 2017. The next runners up are Saint Petersburg State University, Higher School of Economics and Novosibirsk State University; each slipped one position compared with last year. National Research Tomsk State University advanced from 8th to 7th position. National Research Tomsk Polytechnic University moved up two slots to place 8th. ITMO National Research University is 9th (down from 7th position) and Peoples’ Friendship University of Russia is the last in the top ten.

National University Rankings is an annual publication launched in 2009. Russian universities are assessed by the following parameters: teaching, research, international activity, extra-curricular activity, branding and innovative technology input.
