At the end of the course the students defended their projects and received certificates.

For a week, Russian and Chinese students attended lectures and master classes on relations between countries and changes in the global political and economic environment. The classes were led by professors from Higher School of Economics, East China Normal University, and visiting experts from Russian, Chinese and American universities. A lot of time was devoted to practical exercises; participants worked in small groups, researched various global problems and argued as they tried to come to a consensus and offer a solution. One of the hot topics was the U.S.-Chinese trade war. According to student Xu Weixin, the voiced ideas were very different and quite controversial, but they made the discussion even more interesting. In addition to academic topics, school participants also discussed social problems, shared their impressions of life in Moscow and Shanghai, and talked about their hobbies.

The Russian-Chinese Summer School on International Relations has been held annually since 2011; it has trained 300 people overall. Summer and winter schools are a great opportunity to get to know the university and choose an undergraduate, graduate or PhD programme. Find out more about HSE short programmes here.
