Russian Universities Producing Highest Paid Graduates in IT Field

The Superjob portal published the ranking of young specialists’ salaries.

The study is based on the incomes Russian universities graduates 2013-2018. The highest wages (160,000 rubles or $2,500 per month) were paid to IT experts who graduated from Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology. MIPT was followed by Bauman Moscow State Technical University (140,000 rubles/$2,200) and Lomonosov Moscow State University (130,000 rubles/$2,060). The top ten included ITMO University, National Research Nuclear University MEPhI, Novosibirsk State University, Higher School of Economics, Kazan Federal University, National University of Science and Technology MISIS, Ural Federal University, Lobachevsky University and Peter the Great St. Petersburg Polytechnic UniversityNational Research Tomsk Polytechnic University and several other higher education centres appeared in the ranking for the first time. In general, alumni’s income tended to increase compared with last year’s survey. For example, HSE alumni wages have increased by 17,000 rubles ($270) since 2018. Novosibirsk State University and Peter the Great St. Petersburg Polytechnic University alumni’s wages increased by 12,000 rubles ($190) and the incomes of MIPT, MISIS, UNN alumni by 10,000 rubles ($160).
