Ten Russian Universities in THE Rankings for Physical Sciences

Times Higher Education released a new edition of best universities rankings by subject.

Last year, just 100 universities across the world were ranked; in 2017 THE listed 500 higher education institutions. Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology showed the best results among Russian universities having moved up 30 positions to 48th place. MIPT is followed by National Research Nuclear University MEPhI placed 89th. The top 200 include Lomonosov Moscow State University which is in the 101-125 bracket, Novosibirsk State University and National Research Tomsk Polytechnic University in the 126-150 bracket and Saint Petersburg State University in the 176-200 bracket. Tomsk State University was in the 201-250 bracket, Kazan Federal University in the 301-400 bracket and Higher School of Economics and ITMO National Research University in the 401-500 bracket.

All the above Russian universities were listed in THE overall university rankings 2018. In 2017, THE also published world university rankings by Computer Science, Life Sciences, Engineering and Technology, Arts and Humanities, Business and Economics, Education, Social Sciences, Law and Medicine.
