Any experience I can get in Russia is valuable for me

When I was in India and was thinking about studying abroad, I was choosing between Germany and Russia. My dream was to study in a big university, and I found out that ITMO University is the biggest and the best one in its field. I checked its Facebook page and really liked the events they organise and the people. The overall success of this university is great, and I can say it charmed me.

I’m already involved in the research and work on my topic, and I think I can do good in this field. I want to be a kind of well-known guy for making something important. I don’t know if it’s possible or not; more days and months will go and it will be clear. I am a programmer and I have already designed many websites in my country, but everything I’ve got used to is very different here. Maybe I’ll move from research to a prominent job; however, any experience is valuable.

Russia is very cold. Maybe it sounds funny but I want to experience it. I like Russian culture and the language, and I think I can’t learn it better somewhere where it’s not the native language. Saint Petersburg is also a great city. It’s almost like Europe, and all this in addition to teaching is why I’m here.

Maybe the biggest difficulty is that most people in Russia don’t speak English. When I first came to Saint Petersburg, the biggest problem was to get to the dormitory because the taxi driver and the guys on security pass did not understand me. And the other thing is that people here are extremely nice to you once they get a chance to know you.
