I understood that Russia is a mysterious country, but foreigners don’t know about its peculiarities
I came to Russia from China in September 2011. In October, I started studying Russian language at SUSU. The Russian language classes were held every day, except Sundays. In 2013, I started studying for Master’s Degree in philology with specialisation in Russian as a foreign language. I listen to lectures on translation theory, intercultural communication, Russian language, and speech culture. In general, the classes were really interesting, and I had learned a lot for my further studying. As for Russian language studying, I know now that Russian is a very difficult language. To learn it, one has to train a lot and try to speak to the Russians. Earlier I found it complicated: I was shy and didn’t want to make mistakes. Then I’d understood that I’d lost much time this way that I could have used better. I couldn’t imagine that my life in Russia would be so different from the life in China. I understood that Russia is a mysterious country, but foreigners don’t know about its peculiarities, manners, customs, and exceptions. I feel blessed that at the South Ural State University I’ve met and got acquainted with good people who helped me a lot and taught me the most important aspects about living in Russia. Especially that’s why I decided to enter a PhD programme and continue studying at SUSU.
