My level of Russian has grown significantly over the months that I have spent in Russia
I had all the information before the arrival that I considered useful about the university and the town. On my way to Russia I did stopover in Rome and then I spent couple a days in Saint Petersburg. I should say I was highly surprised about the quality of the 5-hours-train connecting Saint Petersburg and Petrozavodsk. It was not my first time in Russia, so the adaptation in PTZ was perfectly bearable. The only thing I blamed couple times was Russian bureaucracy, but this is something that has nothing to do with the University and the courses.
I couldn’t be more satisfied about the courses of the Russian language at the University. Maybe the only change I could propose is less time involved in watching small videos/cartoons at the lessons. But studying Russian was challenging itself.
I loved my living conditions with the host family. They were really helpful and always ready for any inconvenience that could have occurred.
Staying in Petrozavodsk is perfect for a 2-3 months period. Plenty of restaurants and pubs. Nature all around and lovely embankment.
Except where we had the lessons, the rest of the university was understandably empty during the summer time. But I would like to say SPASIBO to my teachers Yekaterina and Victoria. My level improved a lot during my months in Russia. I also have only good words for the personnel of the International Office, they really are helpful and open to our inquiries. Thanks and see you in BCN!
I fully enjoyed my stay in PTZ.
