The profile content of "Russian history" is the study of the past of the state and the peoples of Russia. The object of the Russian history study is the activities of the state and society, the peoples of the country in all spheres of life at various stages of historical development. The task of the Russian history is searching and evaluation of the historical sources, study and analysis of the whole set of facts and phenomena of social and everyday life.

The content of the program "Historiography, source study and methods of historical research" is the study of the problems of formation, development and modern state of historical science in theoretical, source-study, historiographic and methodological dimensions. Studies should be conducted on the basis of modern achievements of the world and domestic historical science both in approaches, methods, and in the technical design of the results of scientific developments. The main objects of study are the content, genesis and main trends in the evolution of historical knowledge and historical science in historiographic, source-study, methodological and theoretical aspects.
