The program aims to develop IT-competencies of specialists in social and humanitarian fields; expand their research tools; and to provide knowledge in the field of IT-consulting and developing IT-sphere. The mechanism of solution for these problems is connected with enhancing the interdisciplinary training of specialists who apply IT to solve problems dealing with the development of the information society and processes of informatization.
Programme contents
The programme is based on a special system approach. Students not only obtain knowledge and skills, but also the model which allows them to see the whole picture and create unique and in-demand products. Our students complete such courses as: Information Society; Modern Theories of Communication; Internet-marketing and Advertising; Internet-analytics and Promotion in the New Media; Video Games as a Phenomenon of the Contemporary Culture; Internet Psychology; Theory and Practice of Virtual Reality; basic graphic design and 3D modeling, technologies of audio and video editing. The following courses are also presented in English: Basic Social Robotics; Visualization Culture and Technologies.
During their studies, students are active in the "Moodle" system, which allows them to complete some of their courses off-campus. As interns, students participate in projects of the TSU Institute of Distance Education and other divisions of Tomsk State University.
Masters with remarkable research results may continue their studies as PhD-students.
Admissions
Candidates must have at least Intermediate level of their English language proficiency. Admission is competitive, students with Bachelor’s degrees or higher are eligible. The admission tests are an exam in Philosophy and an interview.
