Programme Focus

The Agronomy programme focuses on the problems of efficient agricultural land use, mechanisms of soil formation and modern farming systems. Students gain knowledge and practical skills in the use of advanced technology in crop sector, farming and agro-engineering works.

During the four years’ study, students learn a wide variety of general and vocation-related subjects. Specialized subjects are: Botany, Plant Biochemistry and Physiology, Soil Science, Fundamentals of Geology, Land Management, Agricultural Chemistry, Horticulture, Selection

and Seed Breeding, Fruit Growing, Plant Protection and others. Great emphasis is put on the learning of one or several foreign languages.

Programme advantages

The peculiarity of our Bachelor’s programme in Agronomy is that even within the course of studies, students can realize their potential in the field of innovation technology.

Training is conducted in new university laboratories equipped with laminar boxes, hothouses, automated EIA analyzers and a growth chamber; in IT rooms with dedicated software; in rooms with multimedia equipment, including such as for conducting webinars and video conferences.

Upon completion of the Agronomy programme students will learn to cope with standard professional tasks, use advanced technologies in their practice, apply modern scientific research methods in agricultural science and use foreign languages in their professional, scientific and everyday life.
