Pharmaceutical Chemistry and Pharmacognosy. Accreditation

The program is designed for pharmaceutical and analytical chemists.

Upon completion of the program a specialist has to possess the following knowledge:

• Constitution of the Russian Federation; pharmacy laws and other regulations of the Russian Federation; 
• the pharmacy itself; management and economics of pharmaceutics; 
• standards and guidelines on manufacturing technology and quality control of medicines, pharmaceutical procedures, sanitary regime; 
• marketing of medicines and medical supplies; methods of obtaining and processing of scientific and engineering information; 
• principles of functioning of budgetary insurance medicine and voluntary health insurance; 
• medical ethics; 
• psychology of professional communication; principles of labour legislation; 
• internal labour regulations; occupational anf fire safety rules.

Skills obtained:

• Ability to possess methods of solving the problems of pharmaceutical analysis of drugs;
• Ability and availability to use all types of intrapharmacy control, including physical and chemical pharmacopoeia methods of drugs analysis;
• Ability and availability to conduct the examination of documents for state registration of medicines;
• Ability and availability to control the storage of medicines and medical supplies in accordance with their physical and chemical properties and established rules for storage; to control production of medicines and titrated / working solutions in compliance with the rules; to control the terms of their storage and distribution to pharmacies;
• Ability and availability to conduct research to develop new and improve existing methods for drugs analysis, to develop local regulations within his/her competence;
• Ability and availability to provide guidance and advice to employees of subdivisions of pharmacy organizations on issues within his/her competence;
• Ability and availability to assess the quality and rational use of medicinal plants;
• Ability and availability to systematize and analyze the documents, information and teaching materials, other scientific and statistical information on the Organization's activities, formation and maintenance of up-to-date relevant databases needed to perform functional duties in the field of quality control of medicines and medical supplies.
