Programme Focus
The programme is aimed to provide a high-quality higher education in the field of international relations, to prepare first-rate international relations experts and diplomats through providing the students with a solid background of theoretical, historical and methodological knowledge, as well as extensive methodological skills in conducting empirical international research. The programme gives the students a comprehensive scientific vision of international relations, patterns and trends of their status and development, mechanisms of global processes, etc.
Programme Advantages lie with highly qualified teaching staff in the first place, including leading Russian experts in international relations working with Diplomatic Academy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and MGIMO University. The curriculum includes an intensive course of two foreign languages (English, French, German, Spanish Arabic, or Chinese electively). Students are given the opportunity of professional internship (with a view of a possible job offer) in leading research centers, governmental bodies, local authorities, Russian and international business structures, Russian and international non-profit and public organizations, news agencies, mass media. Students’ academic mobility is effected through overseas internship programmes.
The students are widely engaged in scientific research carried out by Theory and History of International Relations Department. They actively participate in the work of Scientific Student Society "Internationalist", in conferences and theoretical seminars, symposia, research projects, followed up by publications in scientific journals.
