The Programme is aimed to teach the M.A. students the skills of independent study of the history and present-day political, economic and social situation in the European region. It also allows them to develop a scientific explanation of the chief causes and patterns of economic, social and political processes taking place in individual countries of Europe, and to disclose their interrelationship and interaction with similar developments at regional and global levels.
The programme for the Master of Arts Degree in Regional Studies at the Institute of Foreign Languages of the Peoples’ Friendship University of Russia is specially designed to help the students gain a greater understanding of how the global system works.
Within this programme, a student is offered a chance to gain excellent knowledge of two foreign languages up to the Proficiency level. Furthermore, the programme also includes optional courses, such as International Management, Marketing, Advertising, and Public Relations. Geographically, we offer specialization in European Studies.
The Programme graduates will be able to get a job in the leading Russian and foreign companies of different profiles, cultural centres and embassies of foreign countries; bodies of state and municipal management; prestigious international organizations.
Graduates’ areas of expertise lie in translation and interpretation; performance of the assistant functions for the head of Ministry of Foreign Affairs or State Administration; collection, analysis, systematization of information on various branches of diplomatic activities; summary of materials of socio-political and trade-economic orientation, etc.
