Crash Course “Russian and Eurasian Legal Studies / REALs” is a 5-week English-taught intensive course aimed at introducing rules, regulations and processes that currently shape the legal systems in Russia and the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU).
The key aspects to be explored during the course include:
• Introduction to the Public Law and the Constitutional law of the Russian Federation;
• Introduction to the Russian Criminal Law and Human Rights Law;
• EAEU Integration Law;
• Introduction to the Russian Private Law.
Within 5 weeks of studies the participants are expected to attend lectures, participate in seminars and carry out independent research activities and practical assignments.
REALs is a certificate course – there is a final exam at the end of studies. Upon successful completion, the students receive 12 ECTS points.
REALs has been developed by IKBFU in collaboration with Prof. Dr. Dr. h. c. Hans-Detlef Horn (University of Marburg, Germany). The course has gained recognition not only in Russia but also in Germany where, first the University of Marburg, then, the Hessen Ministry of Justice accredited it.
