Programme Director: Petrov Igor
Chair: Chair of Computational Physics
Description:
The programme focuses on training specialists in numerical methods, including the use of high-performance computing technologies and methods of mathematical modelling of physical processes. During the training, attention is paid to both fundamental scientific problems and applied aspects. Emphasis is placed on the chair’s own developed software tools capable of solving the most complex modern physical problems.
Among the main activities are:
- Modern high-precision numerical methods and parallel computing;
- Computational problems in gas dynamics and aerospace systems;
- Computational challenges of developing the Arctic shelf;
- Computational geophysics;
- Computational challenges of oil and gas seismic;
- Computational physiology and medicine;
- Railway safety objectives.
