Programme Focus
In the course of the studies the students are trained to solve the following professional tasks: use mathematical modeling methods of information and simulation models; develop architecture, algorithmic and software solutions of system and application software; study information systems by methods of mathematical forecasting and system analysis. The graduate departments cooperate with the major educational and research institutions such as the Steklov Mathematical Institute, the Dorodnitcin Computing Center, Moscow Aviation Institute, Microsoft, the Lavochkin Research and Production Association, the Institute of Informatics Problems, Joint Institute for Nuclear Research (Dubna). There the students do traineeships and can carry out the implementation of their theses.
Programme advantages
In the course of their training the students are engaged in scientific work, they have the opportunity to do traineeships in the leading universities of Germany (Karl Ruprecht University in Heidelberg, University of Justus Liebig in Giessen, Free University of Berlin) under the Russian-German programme cooperation G-RISC, take part in the Russian and international conferences, increasing their professional potential and scientific outlook, which makes them popular in the labor market.
Graduates’ expertise and career opportunities
Graduates have good skills of mathematical modeling in applied fields, are able to carry out evidence-based computational experiments, and handle the modern algorithms of computer mathematics. The acquired knowledge and skills enable them to work in the financial sector: banks, large insurance companies, investment and pension funds (the company "Synovate Comcon", Bank "Home Credit", "Rosstrakh", "Lukoil"). The graduates are in demand in the space industry (NPO Lavochkin and Khrunichev Space Center).
