22 Russian Universities Featured in the Global Ranking of Best Universities

Russian universities have gone up in the authoritative QS World University Rankings.

Lomonosov Moscow State University remains Russia’s best university at No. 108. St. Petersburg State dropped 2 ranks to No. 258. Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology jumped 26 ranks to No. 291.

QS 2016 Top 10 Russian universities also include Bauman Moscow State Technical University, National Research Tomsk Polytechnic University, Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology, Moscow State Institute of International Relations under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation (MGIMO), National Research Tomsk State University, Peter the Great St. Petersburg Polytechnic University, National Research University Higher School of Economics (HSE).

Kazan Federal University, Far Eastern Federal University and MISiS significantly improved their QS standing compared to 2015.

QS World University Rankings reflects several university performance indicators: academic reputation, student-to-faculty ratio, employer reputation, citations per faculty and international student and faculty ratio.

The number of foreigners coming to Russia for study keeps growing, and this naturally translates into internationalization rankings. 77% of Russian universities improved their international student ratios in 2016.
