Foreign Nationals Can Gauge Their Chances to Get into HSE

Online practice tests and portfolio checks are available.

Higher School of Economics applications are still open to foreign nationals. Documents are uploaded at the HSE portal. Entrance tests can be taken anytime till 14 August 2020; see the examination schedule on the university website. 

International applicants can check their knowledge right now by taking practice tests in mathematics, Russian language, history and English. These are HSE official entrance tests which undergraduate programme applicants took in 2018 and 2019. Several versions of the tests are available in Russian and English. After filling out an application form, prospective students get a link to the test. Prospective master’s students can have preliminary interview and portfolio evaluation to assess their skills before applying to HSE. Choose the faculty and fill out the form; HSE will send an interview invitation to your e-mail address.

It is not yet known when students will be able to come to the university to study, but even with the borders closed due to the epidemic, classes will start in September. HSE promised to arrange distance learning for international students based on individual study plans and supported by teachers.
