International Student Spartakiade Was Held in Vladivostok

Russian Maritime region has hosted the first ever Generation of Peace International Spartakiade. Over 100 international students from six universities in the region took part in the contest.

Young people from China, Vietnam, Korea, Japan, Colombia, Ecuador, USA, Uzbekistan and other countries competed in seven sports – mini soccer, volleyball, swimming, table tennis, badminton, street ball and relay race. Side by side with competitions, open master classes were held in sambo, capoeira and Greco-Roman wrestling. Jury said they were impressed with the performance of the participants.

Far Eastern Federal University team scored most medals and won the golden challenge cup. They will hold it for a year before it is contested by other multi-national student teams – the Spartakiade is planned to be an annual event, and teams from Chinese provinces bordering on the Maritime Region may soon take part in it.
