Students from China, South Korea, Singapore, Mexico, Bulgaria and Greece took a short summer programme.

Peter the Great St. Petersburg Polytechnic University teachers and visiting professors read summer school lectures. International Telecommunications Union bureau director Francois Rancy, Doctor of Science in Physics and Mathematics Vladimir Mostapenko, Associate Member of the Russian Academy of Sciences Alexander Ivanchik and other experts shared their experience with space module students.

Study topics included spacecraft layout, communication satellites design methods and key provisions of international space law. Some classes focused on research: students studied miniaturised satellites (CubSats). Theme tours were part of the programme: international students visited the Svetloye Radio Astronomy Laboratory having a powerful 32-meter telescope. This equipment is used to research the solar system and distant galaxies. At the Pulkovo Observatory, the students learnt about the key space exploration objects.

During summer school training, they gained practical skills, explored Russian culture and recreated themselves. The students travelled to the Gulf of Finland coast, toured the Hermitage and the Peterhof and visited the Mariinsky Theatre and other top Petersburg localities
