The university announced Intake 2019 results.

Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology admitted 370 foreign nationals overall. Two hundred and fifty-two people enrolled in undergraduate programmes, 88 in graduate programmes and 30 in PhD programmes. A majority of students came from former Soviet republics such as Kazakhstan, Ukraine, Belarus, Armenia, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Azerbaijan and Turkmenistan; many young people came from China, Vietnam, India and Myanmar. There are first-years from Argentina, Indonesia, Colombia, Egypt, Mexico, Mongolia, Iran, Nigeria, South Africa, Bulgaria, Bolivia, Brazil, Guatemala, Zimbabwe, Yemen, Israel, Korea, Latvia, Mexico, Nepal, Pakistan, Peru, Rwanda, Saudi Arabia, Syria, USA, Ecuador, El Salvador and other states.

MIPT is known for its powerful math, physics and computer science schools. As expected, the most sought-after fields among the international applicants in 2019 were Applied Mathematics and Informatics, Applied Mathematics and Physics, Informatics and Computer Science, Technical Physics and Biotechnoloy. The most popular English medium bachelor’s degree programmes were Computer Science and Aerospace Engineering, and the top master’s degree programmes were Applied Industrial Bioinformatics and Advanced Combinatorics.
