The Russian Education Center was opened on the premises of Samarkand State University (SamSU). North-Caucasus Federal University is the Center’s coordinator. The Center’s opening was scheduled to mark the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Russia and Uzbekistan.

“Such a large-scale project with so many involved universities is being implemented for the first time. Samarkand State University is NCFU’s reliable strategic partner. Over the past several years, 8 double-degree programs have been jointly developed, scientific and academic ties are actively developing. The Russian Education Center opened on the premises of SamSU will make the platform for the promotion of Russian language and education in Uzbekistan,” said Dmitry Bespalov.

The main goal of the Center is sustainable and harmonious cooperation between the universities of Russia and Uzbekistan, as well as promotion of Russian education and its brand, and the export of educational services.

In addition, on the basis of the Center it is planned to coordinate joint research and educational projects and programs, provide methodological support for teachers of the Russian language, Russian literature, history and other disciplines, and hold joint international events, scientific and practical conferences, seminars, symposiums, and masterclasses.
