Summer School Was Opened by Russian and German Ministers in the Urals

The ceremony was held at the Ural Federal University.

Frank-Walter Steinmeier, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Germany, and Sergey Lavrov, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, arrived in Yekaterinburg to hold a meeting and to launch a joint Russian-German Summer School “Ways of Development of the Energy Sector. Modern Challenges”.

It will be held at the Ural Federal University from 15th to 26th of August, 2016. During 12 days of Russian and German students will be searching innovative energy-efficient solutions and discussing the problems of the energy sector. This is the second united programme of the Urals Federal University and the Berlin Technical University. The first summer school was opened last summer in Germany.

Sergei Lavrov said to the students that they are showing a good example of cooperation to adults. Minister of Foreign Affairs of Germany said that such events are improving the international relationship. Frank-Walter Steinmeier comes to the Urals for the sixth time, he is a Doctor Honoris Causa of the Ural Federal University. It is also planned that the Minister will give a public lecture at the university and after this will answer to the students’ questions.
