The preparatory faculty for foreign citizens was opened at Orenburg State University. The ceremony took place on December 9. The faculty was designed to help residents of foreign countries who do not speak Russian prepare for admission to Russian universities.

The first students enrolled at the new department last fall. Today, more than 70 citizens of the Republic of Chad, Egypt, Algeria, Somalia, France, Indonesia, and Jordan study here. Some of them have arrived in Orenburg and started classes in the full-time format. The others are accomplishing the preparation of the necessary documents, and in the near future will join their fellow students.

“I feel very comfortable in Orenburg. All the teachers and volunteers are very kind to us, help us in everything. I've only been here for a month, but I already have a lot of Russian friends”, – shared his impressions Alravashde Obada Yunis Barakat, a student from Jordan.

The university emphasized that opening the faculty for foreign students is one of the steps towards the status of an international university. More information about the faculty can be found on the website http://www.osu.ru/doc/636/facult/6857 .
