Registration for the academic competition is open till 16 February 2020.

Ural Federal University invites schoolchildren in 8th to 11th grades from the Commonwealth of Independent States to take part in the “Izumrud” Olympiad. The competition covers mathematics, informatics, physics, chemistry, Russian, history, social science, sociology, and political science. The first round (online tests) runs until 16 February 2020 (23:59, Moscow time). Register at the university website to receive the link to the Olympiad problems; you can choose one or several subjects. First round top scorers qualify for the finals which will take place in cities across Russia, as well as in CIS member-states (Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan) in late February – early March 2020. The list of venues will be published on the university website by 16 February.

Olympiad winners in mathematics, Russian, sociology, social science, political science and history are eligible for admission to field-specific programmes without entrance examinations if they score at least 75 points in the Unified State Examinations (EGE) in these subjects. Winners in other subjects get two extra EGE points.
