UTMN Offers Foreign Nationals New Programme in Biology

University of Tyumen Institute of Environmental and Agricultural Biology has launched a new MSc programme “Mathematical Biology and Bioinformatics” targeting prospective biological science researchers. Students will learn to apply mathematical methods (theory of differential equations, statistics, mathematical modelling) for resolving biology problems and become proficient in data processing software. Mathematical biology specialists are needed at medical institutions and pharmaceutical and biotech companies.

Mode of study is full-time, length of study is two years, graduates get master’s degree. The programme is offered to holders of bachelor’s or specialist degree in biology, computer science, mathematics, physics, chemistry and geography. UTMN master’s studies applications are open from 17 June to 25 July to scholarship students and from 17 June to 31 August to self-funded students. UTMN Institute of Environmental and Agricultural Biology was established in 2017 to train researchers in the field of human, animal and plant biosecurity. Aside from from the new programme “Mathematical Biology and Bioinformatics,” prospective international students are offered an English medium course in Plant BIOSecurity.
