In 2013 NSU launched the Adaptation of International Students at NSU project. New students are encouraged to build their programme based on the formula "Useful Information + Student Socialising + Interesting Free Time = Successful Adaptation". The project is implemented by NSU staff and students. Its main objective is to help international students adapt more quickly to Novosibirsk and Akademgorodok.

International students and Master's students at NSU live in a new comfortable dormitory not far from the university laboratory building.

Rooms are located in blocks – 2 single, 2 double; there are also separate single rooms. The furniture includes tables, chairs, cabinets, beds and bedside tables. There are bathrooms in the blocks and separate rooms.

On each floor there are kitchens, elevators and refuse chutes. There is a canteen and a laundry, cloakroom and an area for bicycles. There is also Internet access. The dormitory has security staff and a fire safety system is installed.

NSU has everything you need to enjoy sports. The university has sports clubs and two sports complexes on the campus. The smaller complex includes a volleyball court, a ski base, several halls for martial arts (judo, karate), and exercise rooms. The larger facility has a swimming pool, a basketball court and a ping pong room.

NSU graduates are employed at well-known companies such as Yandex, Nornickel, Intel, Software, Rosneft, Rosnano, Sberbank of Russia, PWC, Google, and Schlumberger.
