Preparatory department for Bachelor's programmes
UrFU offers intensive Russian language course and a range of basic general courses for those who plan to apply to a Bachelor's degree programs at the University.
During one semester, students without any knowledge of Russian receive basic verbal communication skills, as well as writing, reading skills and will be able to understand simple texts.
The annual preparatory course is designed for students who plan to pursue their undergraduate studies at UrFU in Russian. It includes classes in grammar, speech, reading, listening, phonetics, as well as Russian history, culture, literature, and media.
Training is conducted in one of 5 profiles: engineering and technological, natural science, economics, human science, medical and biological.
Preparatory department for Master's programmes
The annual preparatory course is designed for students who plan to continue their graduate studies at UrFU in Russian. It includes classes in grammar, speech, reading, listening, phonetics, as well as Russian history, culture, literature, and media.
Training is conducted in one of 5 profiles: engineering and technological, natural science, economic, human science, medical and biological.
Study period: start of courses-September, end of courses-June-July.
Tuition-fee for the 2020-2021 academic year: 136,000 rubles / year.

Russian Language School for Foreign StudentsUral Federal University offers Russian language courses of different number of teaching hours at all levels of knowledge of the Russian language. Application and enrollment is held throughout the academic year.
The program of UrFU Russian Language School is based on intensive Russian language course (20 hours a week), as well as the development of a scientific style of speech and a number of basic general and specialized subjects to master a chosen field of study.
UrFU Russian Language School offers various programs for foreign students designed to prepare for entrance exams and study at Russian universities for a Bachelor's, Master's and postgraduate degree in different specialties.
Exams at the end of training: Russian language, specialized subjects.
A student of the Preparatory Department receives a certificate confirming proficiency in Russian language and results in other subjects. If desired, graduates of the Preparatory Department are given the opportunity to pass the Test of Russian as a Foreign Language (TRKI) and receive an international certificate of proficiency in Russian.
